Sports photography and Wedding photography are not so different……
It’s all about telling a story but capturing the key moments, anticipating and recording the spontaneity whilst perfectly recording the accompanying emotions.
I am Paul Greenwood, a professional photographer living on the Wirral in the North West of England. I am lucky enough to have worked as a professional photographer for the last 16 years.
Photography is not only my profession, it is my passion.
Seven years ago my wife and I welcomed our first child into the world, 18 months later our second child was born and very quickly it became clear that life as a staff photographer was not suitable. With two young children and a Springer Spaniel now completing our family, my wife supported my leap into the realm of working for myself and I left the comfort of working in a staff position in October 2013.
I initially stuck with what was familiar, my background is with newspapers and agency work so I have, for the last 5 years, been working very successfully as a sports and PR photographer. Clients, and friends, often asked me if I could photograph their weddings and, although I did, I was always busy with Sport and PR photography to really consider wedding photography as a career option, that is until one sunny afternoon August 2017, when I was photographing a wedding and I realised how much I enjoyed being part of a day that was full of love, laughter and smiles.
I decided that I needed to change career direction, which leads me to sitting here now, typing these words into my Mac and convincing myself that I have something interesting to say and hoping that you will stick with me and read all the way through my posts over the coming years.
I’m glad you’re here and made it this far with me, I look forward to interacting with you all as we travel on a journey together documenting my life as a wedding photographer.
